Entry Page
What is Entry Page? – Definition
The entry page is the first web page users reach at the beginning of a session. Sometimes the home page is the entry page (but not always!). Determining the most important entry pages (e.g. with Google Analytics) will help you rank them. At the same time, it allows you to learn about your visitors’ interests.
Example
Let’s assume that you are running a blog about a healthy lifestyle. The blog post “Health Benefits of Avocado” is the most popular entry page on your site. What does it mean? It means that this page is the most frequently reached from Google search results and brought the most users to your website. It also tells you that it is worthwhile to create more content about avocados in order to increase organic traffic and Google’s ranking of pages and articles related to this topic.
How to Check Entry Pages in Google Analytics?
- Go to the Behavior section.
- Choose Site Content and then Landing Pages.
- You will see a report presenting the most popular landing pages in the indicated period.
